Farooq Mughal Elected as Chairman of the Gwinnett County Government Community Outreach Board


Lawrenceville, Georgia — The Gwinnett County Government Community Outreach Board of Directors elected Farooq Mughal to serve as Board Chairman.


“I am grateful to Gwinnett County Commissioners for my appointment to the board and most appreciative of my colleagues for their support and vote of confidence,” Chairman Farooq Mughal said. “Serving the Gwinnett County as a Community Outreach Board Chair is an honor and a great responsibility. Diversity and inclusion is Gwinnett County's real strength. I know our Board will continue the legacy of always putting the interest of our diverse constituency and engage key community stakeholders.”

According to Partnership Gwinnett and Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce more than 900,000 residents, Gwinnett County is a dynamic area, home to a diverse and growing population. The region provides the location, atmosphere and economics necessary for businesses to expand their operations and attract a highly skilled workforce. The Community Outreach Advisory Board is tasked to support the community outreach efforts of Gwinnett County by engaging diverse groups of community stakeholders (businesses, workforce, minority entrepreneurs, senior citizens, college students, ethnic groups, disabled persons, etc.) and connect county residents to the various services of Gwinnett County government.


The Gwinnett Community Outreach Board will partner with community groups and organizations to provide forums, multicultural festivals, and other educational programs and events and also advise and recommend to the Board of Commissioners additional community outreach initiatives.
