Friday was a big day as we saw local leaders and global representatives all under one roof here in Garden City kicking off the 2018 Georgia international trade and commerce summit.
Representatives from across the globe were in Garden City Friday. Groups from Canada, Korea, Japan, and Pakistan all made the trip to coastal Georgia.
They’re using this weekend to focus on exchanging ideas and strengthening international partnerships.
After leaving garden city, city hall, the group left to visit Gulf stream, the Georgia Port Authority, and the city of Pooler where they continued discussions Friday afternoon.
State Representative Carl Gilliard spoke about the importance of the visit.
“The whole focus of this as we go in is to have some dialogue about what we can do for goods and services and to foster relationships with these countries and our cities,” said Gilliard.
“Looking forward to a good panel, and good discussion on how we can make our economy better in Georgia. So, thank you state representative Carl Gilliard for hosting us,” said MSGlobal Partners Managing Partner Farooq Mughal.
Some notable local names who attended include Chatham County Commissioner Bobby Lockett, and the Mayors of Garden City and Pooler.
